About the Big Heart Foundation
Originally set up as a fundraising campaign in 2013, The Big Heart Foundation was developed into a full-fledged foundation, in 2015, proceeded by various initiatives and campaigns launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bent Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
The Foundation’s mandate is to protect and empower vulnerable children and their families in vulnerable situations across the world. Since then, TBHF has provided health, education and emergency aid services – among others – to almost 4 million people in need more than 25 countries.

Mission
To safeguard the rights and improve the lives of vulnerable children and families worldwide, particularly in the Arab region, through advocacy, humanitarian and development efforts.
About HH Sheikha Jawaher AlQassimi
HH Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Alqasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, is UNHCR’s first Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children, Chairperson of the Big Heart Foundation, and is one of the most respected and inspirational visionaries in the Arab world. Sheikha Jawaher is also the chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs. The Supreme Council for Family Affairs includes the following organizations: Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Sharjah Ladies Club, Department of Children Centers, Family Development Centers, Sharjah Youth, Health Promotion Department, Al Jawaher Reception & Convention Centre, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, Cultural Office. Her Highness is chairperson of several other government organizations that are dedicated to the care of women, children and the youth. These organizations include; NAMA Women Establishment, Sharjah Business Women Council, FUNN Sharjah Media Arts for Youth & Children, Sharjah Girl Guides, Reyada Center for Learning and Development, among others.
Her Highness is also a Founder and Royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society (FoCP) Friends of Diabetes, Friends of Arthritis Patients, and Friends of Kidney Patients and an International Ambassador for the World Cancer Declaration of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), as well as an International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC.
